This ELL speaking presentation assessment aims to give students practice telling meaningful and personal stories that are somehow connected to the word “travel”. Each year, my first grade students take a trip abroad, so I like to prepare them with some lessons about the value of traveling and about responsible tourism. As part of this unit, they will give presentations, in which they can draw upon their travel experiences – and much more – to practice telling compelling narratives. The handouts below introduce the assignment to students.
